too early morning

Last night before falling asleep, I lay in bed and chatted with ldyicefire until 2am(?) or so. Around 5:30am, the Munchkin woke me, claiming she was cold. The kitten woke up around this same time, so I've been up playing with the kitten & trying to wear him out so I can go back to sleep. I figured if I kept him occupied, he wouldn't go in the big bedroom and disturb the other cat & Nexus, ldyicefire, and Munchkin could finish sleeping.

In order to entertain the kitten, I've been waving around this thin rod with some colored leather strips attached to it & dangling it front of him. He jumps around and chases it, trying to catch it. Occasionally, if I dangle it high enough above him, he'll do backflips trying to reach it.

I imagine the whole image sounds like some bizarre BDSM animal porn: me standing naked in the middle of a room, chasing around a cat with a flogger on a stick & making him jump and do tricks for me. Rather disturbing, now that I think about it, but it's totally innocent, I swear!

I'm now pondering whether to go back to bed or to just stay up & forget about sleeping anymore this morning. Maybe I can sneak in a nap later.
