hate it, hate it, hate it
Aug. 15th, 2005 11:39 amI hate being sick, especially knowing that it's not going away.
I hate how one night of short sleep will sap my energy for a week.
I hate having to refigure my limitations on a daily basis.
I hate how I have only 5 or 6 usuable hours in a day (if I'm lucky).
I hate knowing that I'm probably going to have to give up things that I like in order to function.

at the Google office
Aug. 11th, 2005 08:14 pmWaiting for
nexushoratio to finish showering so we can go meet up with some former co-workers of his.
I'm forcing myself to not gobble up all of the Kona coffee glazed macadamias that someone left in the office for people to try, but they're mighty tempting.

searching for ghosts
Aug. 10th, 2005 02:34 pmI'm trying to find information about two particular ghosts/haunted areas and am having little luck.
malawry, I don't know if you remember anything about this one; it was in the Banner Elk/Beech Mountain area in North Carolina. Some haunted rural church where a preacher had committed suicide after being accused of doing harm to a young girl, and you're supposed to be able to see him ghost at night. I've been to the church, and I remember that it was in the woods out in the middle of nowhere, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the church, or many of the details of the story.
I'm also trying to find out more about the Maj. David Graham mansion on Fosters Falls, Virgina. I had the opportunity to go into the house one night, but chickened out at the last minute and stayed in the car (we were definitely trespassing, and they had to break into the basement to get inside. I was sure we'd get caught and be arrested, not to mention the whole situation just smacked of something out of a bad horror movie. If we weren't arrested, we'd definitely find a crazy hermit with a pickaxe and a taste for cannibalism!). I'm not sure that waiting outside in a car in the middle of the night was less scary, but it seemed like the more legal choice.
From how my friends described the interior of the house afterwards, it had stairs that led to ceilings, doors that opened to reveal walls instead of rooms, a big chandelier in a bizzarre location, and they couldn't figure out how to get to the 3rd floor.
Anyone able to help me here?

List 6 of your favorite songs of the moment in your own lj and then tag 6 others
to do the same.
(Hmm... gotta narrow it down to six songs, eh? I'll see what I can do.)
In no particular order:
1. "Alpha Omega" by Project Pitchfork (or is it "We Are One (Mirror Split Up Into Pieces)"? Such a tough call!)
2. "Pax Psychosis" by Grendel
3. "Hurt" by [:SITD:]
4. "Die Offenbarung" by Heimataerde
5. "Certainty" by Mind.In.A.Box (although "Lament for Lost Dreams" comes reeally close)
6. "Illicit Dreams" by Noise Unit

pierced again
Aug. 9th, 2005 05:16 pmEarlier today, I was washing my face and accidently separated the ends of my nose ring (I have a continuous ring unstead of a captive bead ring). Since it wasn't something I could easily fix myself without risk of damaging the jewelry, I called Body Exotic and spoke to
badassslinky. Within 20 minutes, I was at the shop & she popped the ends of the ring back into place.
Since I was there anyway, I decided to get my ears repierced. They had closed up around 10 years ago and I had been talking about getting them redone.

My earlobes are still a little red and swollen and the picture's blurry, but you get the idea.
I got 14ga black titanium captive bead rings. Slightly more expensive than the surgical steel would have been, but I like 'em.

spiderdust is intense. |
You're no-nonsense, to the point, working all the time, looking to die an early death in a bathroom somewhere when your body finally gives out. Way to go. |

Aug. 2nd, 2005 11:15 amI've spent 45 minutes trying to register for my class online, only to find out that it won't let me register unless I go talk to a counselor (again), who will push a little button so the computer will let me sign up for classes. They aren't answering their voicemail in a timely manner, and are only dealing with walk-ins.
If I had realized that about an hour ago, I could have done that. Since I have to leave for work in 20 minutes, I have to unfortunately wait until tomorrow to speak to a counselor.
Hopefully the class won't be full by then! >:(

at least it'll grow back...
Aug. 1st, 2005 12:25 pmA couple of times last night, I woke up and was startled to see a strange man sleeping in my bed.
The I realized it was just
nexushoratio, sans hair and beard.
I know I'll get used to it eventually, it may be a while. I've never known him without his long hair, and it's been 4 or 5 years since I've seen him without his beard.
ETA: I'm going to need a new icon for him. :/

You know, someone might have warned me before he picked me up from work!!
hi ho, hi ho revisited!
Jul. 31st, 2005 12:01 pmToday I go to work, but not at my own store. The Pruneyard/Campbell store is short staffed today & asked for volunteers from other stores.
It's a full 8-hour shift, doing stuff that I don't generally do for 8 hours a day.
The money will be good, but I wonder if I'm going to be pushing myself too hard today? At least I'm off tomorrow.
