down the rabbit hole
Jan. 27th, 2005 09:24 pmI awoke, and it was night.
I went walking.
I saw a rabbit checking its watch, then scurry into a doorway. The sign over the door said, "GINGER PRESERVE"... so I went inside.
It was a trap. The rabbit had hidden behind the door, knowing the temptation of sweet and spicy condiments would lure me inside. He pushed me into a hole...
...and down I fell.
Down, down, down. Would the fall never come to an end? "I wonder how many miles I've fallen by this time?" I thought to myself. "I wonder if I shall fall right through the earth!"
I did fall through the earth, and ended up in the ocean on the other side. I looked up, and saw that the rabbit's hole had turned into the sky. The rabbit was the moon, shining down on me through the water.
