While making King Cakes with [livejournal.com profile] the_munchkin this morning, the question came up about how canned biscuits work and when they were invented.

Anyone know? We're finding lots of stuff on Google, but it's not quite what we're looking for.

ETA: We ended up calling Pillsbury and asking them. It turns out that canned biscuits were invented in the 1920s by a man named Lively Willoughby. At the time, he called his product "Old Kentucky Buttermilk Biscuits" and sold them door to door.

Pillsbury is going to send us a packet of info so we can go over this with [livejournal.com profile] the_munchkin a bit more.
