good grief

Yesterday, my mother called me to tell me my uncle had died.
Last night, trying to order a gift basket to send to my aunt's home, the customer service agent argued that the address I had given wasn't a valid address, or at least that's what the computer was telling her. She wanted to send it to a town 5 miles away from my aunt. She did send it to the address we supplied, but stated that they couldn't guarantee its arrival, since it might not be a valid address. My aunt has had that address for years! Decades! It was the correct address!
Is this typical customer service for the bereaved??
