brrrrrrrrrrr... and a bit about my day

It's going to be a cold night, I can tell.
I've got my thumbhole sweatshirt on & am making myself a big mug of tomato boullion.

Today we went to 99 Ranch Market. Got some instant pho broth for my brother, since he just can't get decent Vietnamese food in Utah. We also got him some dried lemongrass, some dried galangal, some rice stick noodles, and a big bowl (pho bowls are huge) & spoon so he can enjoy a real pho experience. We also got a few things for ourselves: dried shiitake mushrooms, 5 spice powder, star anise, rice vinegar, shiitake mushroom flavored soy sauce, curry beef jerky, Sriracha chili sauce, a daikon radish, some big packs of tofu, a tiny plastic rice bowl for the Munchkin (a bribe to get her to behave in the store), and some Hello Kitty good luck money envelopes.

99 Ranch was extremely busy today. I think we went too late in the day & too close to the Lunar New Year to have a relaxing shopping experience.

new journal

For those who didn't already know, the Munchkin is a homeschooled child. I set up a new journal today to help me keep a record of this stuff. I don't know how many posts a day it might average... maybe lots, maybe one every couple of days. It probably depends on the day & how often I remember to write stuff down.

If you're interested, the new journal is munchkinacademy. Her actual homeschool name is "(her real name) Academy", but I generally don't use her real name online nowadays. So Pseudonym Academy it is! ;)

I may or may not decide to make it friends only. At the very least, entries with pictures of her will be friends only.

what the...?

Apartment security just knocked on our door & said there had been a complaint of loud music coming from our apartment.

We don't even have our TV on, much less any music.
