Well, I've done it.
I booked flights for me & the Munchkin so we can visit my parents during Thanksgiving.

This will be my 1st time flying since pre-Sept. 11th last year. I'm know I'm going to be a nervous wreck on the plane. Taking some kava that morning will probably be a good thing.

I had thought that I'd be able to rent a DVD player at the airport so the Munchkin would be occupied during the flight, but our flight leaves shortly after the InMotion Movies place at our airport opens, so I don't think we'll be able to get one. I wish I knew if they'd be showing a movie on the plane... anyone know if I can find out beforehand?

Some disappointing things with our in-flight meals:
  • the airline we're taking no longer has "kid meal" as one of the meal options.

  • they don't have a "nut free" option, although they have a "no peanuts" option. It's fine and dandy if my meal is peanut free, but if I have walnuts or pecans in something they serve, I'm a goner.

  • they don't have a "low carb" option (which isn't surprising, most don't) & the "diabetic meal" option seems to be heavy in starches and fruit... kinda odd. I had figured the diabetic one would be lower in carbohydrates, high in fiber, and low in sugar. Instead, it appears to have a lot of simple carbs and fruit sugars. Wouldn't that mess up a diabetic?

  • I'll just pack some protein bars for me & some fun stuff (like goldfish crackers, dried fruit, & juice boxes) for the Munchkin. I tend to do that anyway... it keeps her from getting bored.

A bonus: window seats the whole way. ;)

Who wants to come over & help me finish dreading my hair?
