I fell asleep waking a taped episode of Iron Chef last night. I don't even know who won yet. (It was Battle Porcini, if anyone knows.)

Maybe there will be middle-of-the-day rambling later on.

ACK!

News about the Pledge of Allegiance.
spiderdust: (Default)
Today the Pledge of Allegiance was ruled unconstitutional. To read the article about it, see the last post I made.

Whether or not you agree with it, this is a big deal. So here's what I'd like you to do: go to cnn.com or any other news source you like, find an article about this & read it to your kids. Talk to them about it. Have them write an essay or a poem about it, or make an art project -- color a picture, make a collage, sculpt -- expressing what it means to them (If you homeschool, you can file this away for paperwork & use this as a lesson in our government and court systems & how they work).

Some people think that it'll end up getting tossed out of the courts... maybe, maybe not. In any case, it's a very important event.

I want to see this.

Sad but true. I doubt anyone I know wants to see it though.

Kelli is the best! As a member of Klub Kelli you can enjoy watching over 5,000 videos - right in your web browser. No download required. Totally uncensored! (Oh dear Lord, I'm a PORN SITE!!!)

Kelli is very strong in the air. She has a good vertical leap and is not afraid to challenge anyone in congested areas. (Obviously this person has never seen me playing basketball.)

Kelli is available for adoption. (*bats eyelashes, looks adorable* So who's going to adopt me?)

Kelli is a no-nonsense Astrologer. (Hrmm. Perhaps there really is something in the psychic-readings-at-home business for me.)

Kelli is serious about green. (It IS a lovely color.)

Kelli is back on her feet, entertaining crowds with her sulky, sensuous sound which has blossomed into a new genre of music -- aptly named "blue-country." (Sweet fancy Moses, NO!!!!!!!)

:This looks really good.

:Reading all of [livejournal.com profile] cydniey's posts about vanilla Coke had me craving some, so I looked for it last night while we were at the store. None to be found, but I noticed that the cherry Coke packages have a new label design.

:Woke up rather pleasantly this morning... Munchkin was awake, singing and playing with blocks in her room. It's so nice when she's cheerful upon waking.

:It's sad when I have to look up my boyfriend's resume online because I can't remember his cell phone number.

:Last night I made some salmon in the Jamie Oliver way. Or rather, I prepared it & [livejournal.com profile] ldyicefire grilled it. I put the bones and fins in the crock pot with some water, strained it, added some vegetables, cream, and some of the leftover salmon meat to the broth, seasoned it and made tonight's salmon chowder dinner.

:The Scotland Yard Martini -- 3 ounces Beefeater gin, splash of scotch, 1 lemon twist, for garnish. Stir and strain. Garnish with lemon twist.

:I think when I take my shower tonight, I'll use my Hippy Chick soap. It's patchouli scented & hand made. I'm glad it's a big bar, because I don't know where I'm going to find anymore when it's gone.

:The Munchkin seems to have decided that her new favorite song is "19-2000 (Soulchild Remix)" by the Gorillaz. It's the music for a commercial that's been on several times today & she's been singing along.

:I want this.

:And this.

:And this.

:I hate it when [livejournal.com profile] ldyicefire has to work late.

:I guess I could make my own sugar cookies and put my own buttercream frosting on them, but they wouldn't be as soft as the bakery ones. Oh well. I know they're the last thing little ol' hypoglycemic me needs.

:ICQ conversation from this morning...

Me (11:36 AM) :
I've found a good deal on mortuary cannibalism this morning. Lovely breakfast
reading.
Him (11:37 AM) :
Oh, of course...lovely. :/

Me (11:41 AM) :
Before that, I was reading... *thinks of a delicate way to word it* info about
rectal foreign bodies.
Him (11:41 AM) :
Um...okay.
Your reading list sometimes startles me. :)

:priĀ·on (pree on) n. A microscopic protein particle similar to a virus but lacking nucleic acid, thought to be the infectious agent responsible for scrapie and certain other degenerative diseases of the nervous system.
