metropolis reviewed
Sep. 21st, 2002 11:49 pmToday Nexus & I saw the newly restored version of Fritz Lang's Metropolis with
rmjwell & a few others.
Now while I've seen this movie about 80 times or more, this was the 1st time I had ever seen it restored, with the 30 extra minutes of the original footage.
WOW.
I loved this movie before, but the added footage really helped to flesh out the story & gave the characters a little more depth. Unfortunately we were still bludgeoned (and that might be too mild a word) with the cheesy moral at the end of the story, but it was still wonderful to see this movie on a big screen with the original orchestral score. If I can, I'm going to see it again this week.
To see the trailer and showtimes (hey, maybe it's showing near you!), click here.
(Hey, this post was a good excuse to use this particular user icon, wasn't it? *wink*)
