Spoke to a student counselor at the college today; he recommended that I take a placement test before choosing any classes. I have to go back tomorrow to make the appointment to take the test, since I won't be in the system until then.

Thankfully, the class I want to take is still open. I even got to find out what books will be required and how much they'll cost.
